Only two days to go before Lauren and I leave on our Rumanian adventure! Our flight to Tirgu Mures in the Transylvanian region of Rumania leaves from Luton airport at the unearthly hour of 07.50. After a lot of googling for cheap flights and considering options such as a flight to Budapest and then an 8 hour train ride the simplest and cheapest route seems to be a Wizzair flight to the nearest airport to where we will be volunteering which is Tirgu Mures.
My other tasks over the last week or so have been to fill in a profile form, get insurance and learn a bit of Hungarian which is the language mainly spoken in Szekely Land where we will be staying. I have also started to gather some resources that might be helpful when working with the children, paper, pens, some Nursery Rhyme books, even a tried and tested playdough recipe, but I don't really know what to expect - I might not use any of them. I do know some good games though..
